A 3-week training intensive focused on developing work in an ensemble context
June 3, 2010 tp June 24, 2010
Double Edge uses a highly rigorous physical training which invites the actor to engage with presence, awareness, risk, energy, improvisation, discovery and imagination. Our Summer Intensive 2010 is a three-week program in June 3- 24 which focuses on ensemble creation while using indoor and outdoor spaces across our 100-acre Farm Center in the hills of Western Mass. Students participate in 3 physical, object and vocal training sessions a day and also work on dramaturgy, instrumental music, research, improvisation, and performance creation. During the process participants, along with the multi-national Double Edge ensemble, will create and develop individual and group etudes of original work. The research in this summer’s program will use as a foundation the rich visual world of 20th-century painter Marc Chagall, whose images of flight, circus and parade offer new opportunities to explore narrative and the dramaturgy of image.
