Who is Toni Lopez - Gonzalez?
Toni Lopez Gonzalez is a dancer and teacher who was born on 11 October 1965 in Manila.
Her early dance lessons started at the age of four with her mother Sony Lopez-Gonzalez. In 1972, she was a scholar at the Richard Thomas New York School of Dance and the Ballet Arts in the United States. She was also a scholar at the American Ballet Theater School and the Melissa Hayden School in 1977. In 1978, she joined Ballet Philippines and eventually became a principal dancer. She finished high school at the Assumption Convent and in 1982; she received grants from the Culpepper and Hearst foundations. In 1983, she studied briefly at the De la Salle University.
She teaches at the Philippine Ballet Theater (PBT) and its school. She has been a guest instructor in the schools of Ballet Philippines and the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet in Hong Kong.
